I never really put my “photographer’s life story” online, so here goes…
I discovered my love for photography around age 5, on a family trip to Colorado. I had my mom’s disk camera and LOVED capturing the landscapes to look over them again and again. Even before that, I loved watching nature shows and it was always my dream to work for National Geographic and travel the world with my camera. I was the one who always had a camera with me all through school- I literally tiled my room with 4×6 prints of my friends and I hanging out and getting into trouble. Photography has always been a part of my life.

I took photography courses in high school and through college, while working towards my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After working for several years in a chain portrait studio, during my sophomore year I started assisting weddings for Clair Pruett Studios. I fell in love with weddings- what a great opportunity to capture such an important day for the bride and groom! I graduated from loading film and carrying equipment pretty quickly and became a second shooter for CPS, which I did for a few years until I decided to move on up and be the main in 2005. Since then I have shot hundreds of weddings and events in the Philadelphia area, and I still love it more each time. It’s exciting to see the amazing shots of the couple that illustrate their love for each other and document their special day. I enjoy joking with the bridal party to get those “fun” group shots. I love capturing all the details- from the rings, flowers and invitations to the beautifully lit reception halls. So much thought, time, and money goes into every wedding- it’s my job to show off all that hard work in a series of photos that the families can pass down for generations… and I like having that responsibility.
When I am not shooting weddings or portraits my camera is usually focused on my adorable boys. I have thousands of photos of them, and will likely have millions by the time they go to college! I still love shooting landscapes- my husband and I have traveled to England, France, Mexico, Canada, California, and all up and down the east coast, and my cameras are always with me.
I look forward to documenting life’s memories for my clients and myself for years to come… I am so lucky to be able to live my dream of being a photographer and be able to make others happy with it as well. You can’t ask for much more. ☺
